Self portrait of Dimitrina Tileva: Canvas painter and Portrait Artist

Welcome to my online art space! Here you’ll find my own self portrait. My name is Dimitrina Tileva, and I have been passionate about painting since childhood. Painting is not only my profession but also a deep inner calling. As a trained portrait artist and canvas painter, I have worked with various materials over the years and explored a wide range of subjects. While I don’t confine myself to a single genre, portraits always hold a special place in my heart. These artworks are full of life, expression, and above all individuality. Every person has a unique presence that I strive to capture in my paintings.

Education and Experience

My professional journey began with my training at the “Tsanko Lavrenov” Art School in Plovdiv. Over five years there, I built a solid foundation that allowed me to confidently pursue my creative path as a portrait artist and canvas painter. One of my lifelong goals has been to apply my talent and knowledge in educational and creative work with children. For this reason, I continued my studies at Sofia University, choosing the program “Pedagogy with Fine Arts.” This field plays a crucial role in our growth and education, especially in fostering a positive attitude toward culture and the arts from an early age. During this time, I also had the opportunity to explore the therapeutic role of painting, which is increasingly recognized in preschool and school curricula. Through my work, whether creating self portraits or portraits of others, I strive to combine artistic skill with the deeper emotional and educational value that art brings to life.

Meine Sichtweise auf die Kunst

Since art holds primarily emotional and aesthetic significance for me, I wanted my work to contribute to the preservation and restoration of the rich collection of artworks we possess. This motivation led me to pursue studies in Restoration at the National Academy of Arts, where I deepened and expanded everything I had learned over the years. There, I had the opportunity not only to embrace the role of an artist who creates art but also to study the entire process and techniques of art restoration. I learned to understand not only the value of an artwork but also its resilience or vulnerability over time. As a portrait artist and canvas painter, this experience enriches my approach, allowing me to respect the integrity and lasting impact of each piece I create — whether it’s a self portrait or a commissioned portrait from a photograph.

In all my paintings, regardless of the subject, it is important to me to depict things as they are in reality, without being strictly bound by it. Art is, of course, creativity, and as such, it should reflect the personal and creative perspective of each individual artist. The most beautiful and valuable aspect of this creativity is that we can see the human being portrayed in a hundred thousand different ways.

Commission a Portrait or Canvas Painting

In the gallery here, I showcase my creative vision through a wide selection of works I have created over the years. This allows anyone viewing the images to decide if this is the place where they can find what they are looking for. I paint both portraits from photos and custom paintings, creating many pieces that seek their perfect owner and place.

There are no limits on sizes, materials, or ideas. The completion time for a painting naturally depends on its size and the materials used, but usually takes about two weeks. Prices for the paintings I offer can be found on the pages featuring works for sale or portraits. The price includes all necessary materials but does not include framing. Upon request, a frame can be added for an additional fee. Order a portrait from photo by the artist. When placing an order, a deposit of one-third of the total price is required. For further information or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me through the provided details.
